Happy hospital baby!

Well, this has been an interesting week for the Leonards....it all started Sunday afternoon around 4pm. We got home from Gainesville (where we had such a fun visit with Nana and Poppa!) and Jack was playing just as happy as always! He started coughing and sounded like he was breathing heavy. We called the nurse line at our pediatrician and they said it sounded like he had croup (a bad cough caused by a virus that inflames the airway)...they said to watch him since he was already sounding raspy with his breathing..well, as the night went on it got worse and worse. At 11:15pm, we headed for the ER at Children's Healthcare (Egleston). They rushed us back when we got there. Jack sounded really bad...his breathing was very heavy and labored and he had an awful cough. They gave him a breathing treatment and it helped..but not for long. They decided to admit us to the hospital once he started coughing again after about 30 minutes. He ended up having 3 breathing treatments and an x-ray of his neck to make sure there was nothing blocking his airway. As most of you know Jack...he was a happy playful baby the whole time! He flirted with everyone! I think most of the nurses and doctors that saw him fell in love with him! How could you not?! That made it easier for us! It was one of the scariest moments of our life. We never knew what it would be like to worry about our little angel so much! Jack is doing great and we were there about 12 hours. He has been a good boy all week! There was no real reason why he had it so bad, but we are just glad it is over! We are thankful for our healthy baby! One bad virus...we can take it! :)
Other Jack news...he has taken a couple of steps a few times, but it is still very much on his terms! He does it when he wants too! He is so fast cruising and crawling!!! He is saying "Uh-oh!" now alot! He goes to certain toys if you ask him to go specifically get it! He is clapping all the time (very proud of himself for most anything...we have no problems with self-esteem!) He is growing so much each day and getting so strong! It's so fun to watch! He is also eating lots of table foods now...still haven't tried to the big no-no's yet (nuts, seafood, some larger food) He gets better everyday! He LOVES grapes (cut up small), mandarin oranges, goldfish, yogurt, Nilla Wafers, applesauce, pasta, bananas, cheerios.... We haven't really found anything he doesnt like yet! I hope it stays that way!

We went to a birthday party today for Super heroes!!! Jack was so cute! We also visited with Aunt Jennifer and Uncle John tonight! Jack loves them so much! He was so excited to see them! It's hard to believe that his birthday is in less than two weeks! Every day with our little man is the best day of our life.

St. Patrick's Day, Races, and Fevers!

March came and is FLYING!!!! I seem to mention that alot, but we are amazed by how fast our time is going! It is less than a month until Jack's birthday!!! How exciting...and scary! Our little baby is quickly becoming a little boy!

We got back tonight from Savannah! Whew! It was fun and we are exhausted!!! We spent Friday night with Mimi and Papa Frank and had the best time! We got one of our favorite dinners ever...Frank's homemade fried shrimp! We headed to Savannah on Saturday... Granny and Nannie (Ann) kept Jack while we went to a low country boil charity event with a group of friends! We even got to go out to a nice dinner with Ansley and Hagan! What a treat! Sunday we visited with Aunt Denise, Grandbubba, Mamie, and Shirley! Then that afternoon we had lots of friends over to Granny's to visit and see Jack! He was quite the performer for everyone! We went to the parade today with a big group and had a blast! Jack's first St. Patrick's Day was a HUGE success! He loved it all!

Now, going back to last week.... Daddy had a very successful race weekend in Atlanta! It was beautiful weather and Jack, Poppa, and I went to visit and Jack got to go to his first NASCAR race! Wooo hoooo! He was the cutest! We didnt think we were going to get to go because Jack was running a fever ALL last weekend. It even got up to 104 and we had to take him to Quick Care. Luckily, he is a healthy strong little boy and fought off whatever bug he had and had a happy attitude the whole weekend! We are very blessed that it didnt turn into anything else! Our sweet little man! We dont ever want him to feel bad!

So, as always...we are busy and happy as can be! Each day with our little family is better than the last!

Enjoy all the new pictures! There are LOTS!

March is here!

Wow! March....that means that next month is April..............and we all know what that means??!!! Jack's birthday is just a little over a month away! Time is FLYING!!! March 1 was a COLD SNOWY day in Atlanta! Mommy and Daddy were all cuddled up at home....but Baby Jack was nowhere to be found! He spent his first weekend with Nana and Poppa! It was going to be just for Saturday night, but he got "snowed in" and they VERY reluctantly decided to keep him! Hahaha! They loved having him and he LOVED being there with his grandparents! He already misses being with them!!! We got some much needed rest and quality time together and it was so great! We do have to admit that we really missed our sweet Jack being with us!

Last weekend we had family and friends over...there are lots of pictures of our get togethers! The Buffington's came on Saturday to hang out and the kids played. And on Sunday, the Coopers and the Forgeys came over for dinner! The other REALLY fun thing that happened last week is that Poppa came down on Wednesday and spent the whole day with Jack! It was so great and the two of them got lots of great time together! Jack LOVES his Poppa!
We had a fantastic February and are excited about our plans in March! This weekend (March 6-8) is RACE weekend in Atlanta! It is a very big week for Daddy and we will be heading down to AMS on Sunday for the race (and to show off the little man in his race car outfit!) The next weekend we are headed to Savannah to visit and Jack's first St. Patrick's Day! So there is lots of be excited about!

As always, each day with our little man is better than the last! He is doing so great and just growing so fast!
