Happy kids after hotdogs and brownies!

Last night Jack went to his first Braves game! It was so much fun! We had given Poppa tickets to the game for Father's Day so that he could take Jack to his first game! I made a last minute decision to join the boys when I decided I couldnt miss out on seeing Jack at the "BIG" stadium! He was so cute and so much fun! He hung in there until the 7th inning! He sat and ate his snacks and watched the game (and flirted with any girl he could find near us). Poppa got Jack his first Braves hat and it was the cutest thing! He wore it for most of the game! It was such a fun night! Jack finally got to sleep around 10:30 last night...he was a champ! Great memories!
We also had the Thorpe's in town this weekend! It was the best to have all of them here! We especially loved having John and Maddy at the house! It was fun to wake up together and eat breakfast and watch the kids play! We also had a fun time grilling hotdogs and playing outside on Friday night.  I think Jack enjoyed it more than anyone. He loved playing with the big kids and John and Maddy definitely had fun entertaining them! They pretended to play in a band with instruments, played on the swingset, built a track for the trains, built towers out of blocks, and colored at the table! Maddy did a good bit of carrying Jack around ... however, Jack was almost as big as she is! It was so great to have them here. I think Jack is going to sleep for a week!  They are definitely like family and it made for a really nice weekend! John played in some baseball games in Atlanta for a tournament and their team went to the Braves game last night too!

Check out some fun pictures from the weekend!

Lucy

Mommy 20 weeks

It's about time she made it to the blog! We found out on July 6 that we are having a little girl! It is so very exciting for us! We were so happy to see her again on the ultrasound and hear that she was looking perfect! We really couldnt believe that it was a girl! I think they had to tell us 10 times before we stopped asking "Are you sure?!" It was so emotional for me! I was just thrilled beyond belief! I had no idea it would hit me like it did! I daydream a lot about her and planning for her! Steven is just so happy too! We told Jack that the baby in mommy's tummy was a little girl and that he was going to have a little sister....he just looked at me and said, "Mommy, I have a boo boo on my knee." So, as you can see..he was thrilled! Hahaahaha!
We love the name Lucy and can't wait to meet our little Lucy! I had a great great aunt named Lucille that I was very special to me, and we think it would be special to have a Lucy! Not to mention that Lucy Leonard just sounds so cute! She is really starting to move around and I love feeling her! It's the most amazing feeling in the world! Steven felt her move for the first time last night!
I can't stop thinking about small pink things and all of the fun things that I will get to do with a daughter! We can't wait to see Jack as a big brother. He is just so amazing and will be so loving to a little sister! It's a very happy time for us and we can't wait to meet our little girl!

Seagrove July 2010

We got back last night from a long weekend in Seagrove Beach, Florida! We had an amazing trip with the Forgeys and the Coopers! All of the kids were so great! They had so much fun and did great! We had a really nice house and cooked in a couple of nights and went into Seaside one night for dinner and dessert! It was a good time! Jack really loved playing with Graham (3 year old) that was with us! They were wild and loved running and chasing eachother! They would lay all the pillows on the floor (calling it their "track") and walk and jump over them! It was so fun watching all the kids interact! It was so fun!
Jack loved the beach! He was so excited about going and asked every morning last week when we got him up.."Go to the beach?!" He loved the sand and making sand castles and "cakes" with Caroline.  He helped the boys build a big sand castle. He was not so sure of the waves the first day, but by Friday he was loving going out with Daddy looking for big ones and jumping over them. We spent the mornings on the beach and some of the afternoons by the pool! We did make it back down to the beach one afternoon for pictures of course! (There are a LOT of pictures, but so fun!) We had a great set up with a baby pool and large tent for shade! It was so much fun!
Jack did great on the car ride down there and back home yesterday! We watched several movies and read books! He did great with his potty training and had no accidents in the car! Way to go little man! He also told us when he had to go on the beach. I tried to convince him to tee-tee in the ocean, but I guess that doesnt make sense to him....so we got a bucket and he sat on it like a potty and went tee-tee! So proud of him!

Today is back to reality and ready to start a new week! Countdown begins for our week in Seagrove in September!!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Whew! It's been a fun filled weekend! For some reason, I didnt think we had much going on this weekend. However, it was packed with all kinds of fun!
Friday started out with a fun play date at the pool with Caroline and Lauren! Jack is quite the ladies man! Then Jack napped at Lauren's house while I went to get supplies for the 1st annual 4th of July parade in our neighborhood! Jack and Lauren were going to ride together in a wagon since Steven would be driving the pace car to lead the parade and I would be taking pictures (I know...shocker that I would be taking pictures!) We were pretty impressed with the wagon when we got done! It was very cute!!! The kids got up from naps and went running to get in the wagon! They at least got some practice for the next day!
Friday night, Poppa came down and went out for pizza with Jack and I! It was a great night and Jack was MORE than thrilled to see Poppa. He even woke up Saturday morning calling out for Poppa in hopes that he was still around!
Saturday was the parade and it was SOOO much fun! We had a great turn out and all the kids looked so cute! I am so happy it worked out to start a fun new tradition! Jack and Lauren even won Best Decorated Wagon! We were so proud! The kids had popsicles and watermelon in the cul-de-sac after the parade! Most of us headed to the pool to play and eat lunch! It was nap time...but not for me and Daddy! We headed off to the Fox to see Phantom of the Opera while Jack napped at his buddy's house! The show was great and we were so happy to get offered tickets (FREE!)! We came home and got Jack and headed to an annual 4th of July party in the neighborhood! Jack jumped for 2 staight hours on the trampoline or bouncy house. He must have been worn out! However, he was not as thrilled with the BIG slip n'slide this year. Last year he LOVED it. Not so much this year.... jumping was his preference!
Today we went to church and out to lunch! Daddy steam cleaned the carpets and I headed out with some friends to run errands and look at fun craft stuff! When I got home and Jack got up we headed to friends' house to make a low country boil! It was a FANTASTIC way to end the weekend! The food was delicious and I even made a semi-crafty dessert! Star shaped sugar biscuits with blueberres, strawberries and ice cream! It was very patriotic looking and very tasty (Thank you Southern Living magazine this month!)

It was a great happy weekend!!!! (And I know I said I wouldnt update again...but Jack is continuing to wear big boy underwear everyday with no accidents! He is doing so great!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Last one...I promise!

Ok, I will stop with the potty updates after this! Jack had another great day yesterday!!! He kept his big boy underwear dry all day yesterday with no accidents and pooped on the potty! It's just awesome! We are so proud of our little man! He is very proud of himself! He got to pick his underwear this morning! He picked one with cars on them! He said, "No tee-tee on cars!"! It's been a really successful first week of potty training! Great job Jack!!!!
