Such a FUN tradition!

We went to Burt's Pumpkin Farm for the 7th year in a row! It's so fun to look back at the past years and now to have such BIG kids with us!! Jack and Lucy were very excited about meeting Poppa and Nunno there this morning! I think Steven and I were most excited about Nunno's picnic!! She makes the most amazing picnic each year! We sit by the creek and have homemade chicken fingers, pimento cheese, deviled eggs, salads, chips, sandwiches and yummy treats!!!!
The hayride was so fun and the kids loved running around picking out pumpkins. Jack actually said he just liked picking up pumpkins! ha! We had some popcorn and boiled peanuts in the shade and watched the families POUR into the farm! It is such a happy tradition!
We got home from Burt's and started preparing for our Cub Scout meeting! We hosted the den here today and had safety lessons, made food pyramids to teach us how to eat healthy and even wore our costumes to prepare safely for Halloween this week! We played outside the rest of the afternoon and roasted S'mores by the fire again! Such a fun time of year!

A Special Day...or DayS.

I am REALLY settling in to my time off. Gracious! It's been amazing and happy! I am so grateful for this time. I still have an anxious feeling about it going by too fast! (Can't completely change who I am I guess?!)
So... let me tell you a little bit about my week! (I don't want to forget about it!)

Monday - my first real day off! I worked out at 5:30 and then ran 7 miles with a friend! Ha! Great start, right?! Shortly after that, the Honda's radiator exploded and we spent the day trying to get the car fixed!
I drank coffee and ran some errands! That evening we all 4 spent time in the front yard decorating for Halloween! Fun new fall plants, spider webs, spiders, lights and some creepy ghost that jumps around when you get near him!!! Then we sat in the backyard while the kids played and roasted s'mores! So happy!!!
Tuesday - Worked out again (yay!) and then came home and sat on the couch with my coffee, in the quiet by myself and watched old episodes of The Office! (Seriously..that's happy! Oh and I forgot to mention I picked up a pumpkin donut on the way home!) I went up to the outlets and got some clothes for Jack (big thing on my list since he has outgrown EVERYTHING) and got new running shoes! **Please note... we have at this point in the week, decorated the yard, installed some landscape lights, gotten Jack new clothes, new shoes for me and replaced the water filter in the fridge (HUGE - drastic change to the water distribution!) Mimi got to town that afternoon to visit! The kids were SOOOO excited she was here! We love when she visits!!!! That evening Steven and I went on a date to celebrate the new job! We had fun cocktails and yummy food!
Wednesday - slept in until 8am!!!! Thank you Mimi and Daddy! I got up and we rearranged the office and then I went on a run! Lucy stayed home with Mimi and they had such a fun time playing together! Elizabeth picked me up and we went to the mall to have my make up done! (Seriously, so fun! I was out of just about everything so I went to Bobbi Brown and had it all done! Then we had lunch together!!) When Jack got off the bus, we played in the backyard for hours!  Mimi, Daddy and I got some good time to just sit and talk! The kids climbed trees, made up games and we roasted s'mores again! We had chili that night for dinner! The weather is amazing!
Thursday (today) - I got up and worked out at 5:30 and then went for a 3 mile run with a friend! I got ready quickly and met some fun friends for a late breakfast, picked up Lucy from school (she HAD to go this morning because she can NOT miss ballet day!) and then we picked up Mimi and headed for a BIG SURPRISE for Lulu!!! We took her to American Girl for the very first time! It was really fun! She looked so beautiful and was beyond excited! She was smiling and looking at everything! She picked out her first doll (Isabelle - who by chance loves DANCE! ha!) and a ballet outfit for her! She got to come with us to eat in the Bistro! Lucy was beside herself! She felt like such a big girl. During lunch she leaned over and hugged me and said, "I love this day!" It was so special to spend time with her like that and to see her so very excited! Special times!
We got home and got Jack off the bus and headed to the cul de sac to ride bikes with Morgan and William! We came home and ate dinner and watched Curious George!

It's been an amazing week and and I happy and thankful for this time! Stay tuned... I am sure there will be more fun..and more money spent! Gracious... my "errands" and catch up seem to be costing money!

More fun!

We had a GREAT weekend in Savannah celebrating Ryan (Steven's cousin) and Lizzie's wedding! The weather was picture perfect and both Friday and Saturday's events were outside and Uncle Steve and Aunt Laura's house on the bluff! It was just beautiful! We were so happy to be there and visit with everyone and the kids played so hard! They ran around playing tag and swinging on a tire swing both evenings! (I managed to not get ANY pictures from the wedding!!! Yikes!)
We got a great visit with Granny too! We got to go out to lunch and celebrate her birthday and catch up! Tubby's never disappoints and the food was so yummy! Lucy managed to finish an entire adult size portion of fried shrimp!
We got back in town on Sunday afternoon and they boys headed out for a hike at Sawnee Mountain with the Cub Scouts! Lucy and I headed to a baby shower for a friend! She really thought she was a big girl at the party! We all got back home around 6:00 and we ate dinner outside, had a fire and roasted s'mores! Seriously.. it was a very happy evening! LOVED it and the weather was just amazing!
I am enjoying my first real day off from work! WOW! I got up and went to boot camp and then met a friend for a 7 mile run on the Greenway! I am going to run errands and hopefully sit quietly by myself for a minute! Ha!
Happy Fall!!!!!!

It's Fall Y'all!

The Leonards LOVE October! We are off to a great start too! Jack is loving 1st grade and comes home with something new he has learned everyday! Lucy continues to be the social butterfly in her class and amazes her teachers (and us) each day with her very mature and wide open thoughts!

Jack has one more day of running camp this week. He has participated in "Gotta Run Kids" and has really enjoyed it and improved! He is training to run a timed mile this Tuesday! He actually ran the whole mile this past Tuesday and we went out to eat pizza and celebrate! I was so proud of him and he had a smile on his face each time he came around for a lap! He even finished first in the group! It was really fun to see him so proud of himself too! It's been a good experience for us! He is also having fun with Cub Scouts too! He is a Tiger Cub and Steven is his Den Leader! Such a fun thing for the boys to do together! They have had several meetings, went on an adventure to the Roswell Mill and Jack got his Bobcat Badge this week! Jack's other big news is that he lost his first tooth this morning!!!! Snaggle tooth!!! Fun and sad for us! Such a big kid!

The family has enjoyed a few outings this Fall! We went to Hillcrest Orchards to spend the day and pick apples! The Coopers met us up there and we had a really fun time! We headed over to Cartecay Vineyards after that to try some wine and enjoy their Crush Festival! We ran into some high school friends that we had not seen in years! It was a really fun Saturday! We went to the Greek Festival Friday night! It's an annual tradition for us and never disappoints! SUCH great food, rides for the kiddos and yummy treats! We walked over from Julie and Scott's house! The first time we went with no kiddos... we have had up to 4 kids in strollers and this time the big kids walked with us! It's amazing how each year changes!
We got to go to the auction at the kids school last weekend! We were the happy winners of the desk that Jack's class painted and decorated! He was very excited! We even got to go for drinks and dinner with the Reilly's before the auction!!!
Speaking of the Reilly's...we had AMAZING seats for Garth Brooks a couple of weeks ago! We started our night with dinner in downtown Roswell and then headed to Philips for the show! SUCH a fun night!! We were up on our feet (and toes!) the whole show!

Let's see...what else to catch up on this Fall! Lots of changes for me!! I am about to start a new adventure with a new company! Just a crazy time! It's a very exciting time and also a very sad time for me. I have some amazing friends at Turner and have made some amazing memories! I will be starting a new career with BDR Partners in November! Wish us luck as we start a new adventure! I think it will be great for our family!
I have also started leading some classes on Saturday at Higher Purpose Fitness. It's a VERY exciting and rewarding experience for me. It's just FUN TOO!!!!! HPF is a huge part of my life and to get to lead classes there is quite the privilege!

Happy times for the Leonards! Happy and thankful everyday!
