Jack has 5 days left of Kindergarten. That is just unbelievable. I feel like I am still talking about him just starting big kid school and now he is almost in 1st grade! They have had some days over the last few weeks to visit a 1st grade class! He is VERY excited about it! He has done so well this year and has made so many great friends. We are very proud of our super sweet and smart little boy (excuse me.. BIG kid!) Jack has also started swim team in our neighborhood. He is a Polo Dolphin! We weren't sure about where to start him, but as soon as he had his first practice the coaches told us he was definitely a Dolphin! He gets sad if he misses a practice and has made such progress in just a few weeks! We were supposed to have our first practice meet today but it got rained out! He can swim the WHOLE length of the pool...freestyle and backstroke! I am just really beyond excited about it! AND we love that he loves it! We also had Jack's 6th birthday party (that doesnt seem right?!) We had a great afternoon with some friends at the neighborhood playground!
Lucy has her first ballet/tap recital tomorrow evening! She is very excited! We can't wait to see what she has learned! We also got Lucy's haircut yesterday! A couple of inches! Her little hair is bouncing around her shoulders and she looks so much bigger!
Jack ran another 1 mile race last weekend. He did so great and asked when he could do it again! Lucy actually did it too with Steven. We were SHOCKED by how much she ran..but in true Lucy fashion..she crossed the finish line up in Daddy's arms like a princess! Mommy finished the 10 mile with her buddies (whoa..one of the tougher ones for me! Just one of those days! I was tired when I started!) Daddy and I finished Warrior Dash with 3 other couples! We spent the weekend in Cashiers! It was such a fun time! This was a 5K with obstacles!
The other big accomplishment for Mommy was completed the Tough Mudder with a group from work! 10.5 miles and 22 obstacles. It was just wild! I was beyond proud of my orange headband at the end!
We have picked strawberries, been to birthday parties, played in the pool (yes, we have already broken the pool in for the season! OH we are so excited about summer days at the pool!), seen Disney on Ice and spent a lot of time running around! This weekend was the first in awhile where we got to spend some much needed downtime at home together. It was so happy! We have watched movies and cuddled, played games, made a big breakfast together, sat outside on the patio and got several house projects done! It's amazing what a little slower pace will do for your soul! Here are some pictures of our last few weeks!
