A little late on the Mountains!

Well, time went by pretty quickly! I will do a quick catch up to our mountains trip! We went straight from Seagrove Beach to Smithgall Woods back in June! It was a beautiful weekend and so fun to see all the cousins together!  We took the kids up to a little festival where they got to touch some snakes (gross!), practice fly fishing, see some beehives and even shoot a bow and arrow!  Back at the cabin, the kids (and grown ups) fished, played in the streams and ran/danced around the deck! We celebrated Nunno's birthday with a big low country boil and cake! The one BIG thing that happened in the mountains was Steven's bear encounter!!!!
So.... after we ate and were having some cake, Steven decided to go clean up the pot from the low country boil (you know...so it wouldnt attract animals!) He went out side with his soap and scrub brush and walked right into a HUGE black bear!! They were face to face about 10' apart! Steven screamed and the bear turned around! He was right there on the deck!! Steven came screaming and running back down the deck "There's a bear! There's a bear!" So...what do a group of adults with kids in hand do?! Run right outside to catch a glimpse of the bear! Gracious! Luckily the bear turned around and we got to see him make his way back up the mountainside! Whoa...we will approach the mountains with a little more caution next trip!
