Memorial Day Weekend

It was a fun weekend! (And I didn't take very many pictures! Steven said it was so great not having the camera....Hmmm, he doesn't take the pictures or carry it..but I was so happy it was a load off to him! We didn't take it to the wedding or the pool! Crazy, huh?!) Steven and I headed out of town on Friday afternoon to Madison, Ga for a wedding. Steven's good buddy Tracy got married (on his actual birthday too!) We were VERY thankful to Mimi and Papa for coming up to help out with the kiddos! They had a great time playing together!
The wedding weekend was so fun! It was great to be with such a wonderful group of close friends and it was really fun to not be on a schedule! We got into town Friday night and headed to the rehearsal dinner at a really neat old Farm House that has been renovated. We had barbecue and celebrated the happy couple! It turned into a night of listening to some funny stories as always! Saturday was very laid back. We went into the cute downtown area and shopped around and enjoyed a SLOW lunch! The wedding was outside at a gorgeous old home and we were shuttled to the reception just around the corner! One fun note about the weekend is that I got to wear Aunt Mimi's dress from when she was in high school! It was a Lilly Pulitzer that was so fun! I am very happy that I fit in it and got to wear it again! Hopefully someone else will wear it one day again! Our group did NOT leave the dance floor most of the night! We literally danced the night away! It was so much fun! It's a little bitter sweet because it makes us realize how much we miss everyone! Sunday we went to a brunch before heading home. It was amazing. Truly something out of a magazine. It was at a gorgeous old home that had been renovated and decorated to the hilt! The gardens were beautiful, the food was amazing (and displayed beautifully!) and the house was amazing. We spent most of the time just looking around in awe! What a fun end to the festivities!
We got home around 2pm on Sunday and played with the kids all afternoon and evening in the backyard. We grilled hotdogs and corn on the cob and ate fresh watermelon! It was a fun evening! Today we went to the pool twice. It was lots of fun with LOTS of neighbors! We ate lunch down there and headed down again after we ate dinner. Both kids are exhausted and we are getting ready for another week! Lucy starts a new class tomorrow so wish her luck! Her whole class is moving so I know that will help, but she really loves her teachers and will miss them!

Patio time, dancing, t-ball and fun!

Tonight was a flashback to the past for us! Steven and I had our "patio time"! It is one of our favorite things in the world to do. We spent MANY nights on our patio before we had kids. We listened to our favorite music (Playlist titled "Patio Time"), ate appetizers, drank wine and talked. We spent several hours this evening doing just that! We even opened one of our nice Napa bottles of wine! It never disappoints! Such good wine! We were kid-less and enjoying being just the two of us! It was such a fun laid back night for us! We are very lucky to have each other and enjoy being just the two of us so much!
As laid back as tonight was for us...I can't say quite as much about the rest of the weekend! It all started Friday  around lunch..... I jumped in the car shortly after lunch to drive down to Savannah. Nannie was competing in the "Dancing for the Stars" Alzheimer's Association that evening. She has worked so incredibly hard at this and I just couldn't miss it. THANK GOODNESS I made it!!!! It was an amazing weekend and Ann was TRULY PHENOMENAL! Really... I can't say it enough. She was spectacular and SHE WON!!!!! It was such a happy night and I have never been so proud that she was MY FAMILY! I went back home with her and relived most of the evening! After getting to bed VERY late...the alarm went off at 4:45 for me to wake up and get back in the car so I could make it to Jack's last t-ball game and trophy ceremony! Again..worth all the craziness to see the little man get his first baseball trophy! We had the BEST time being part of the Rangers this year! Jack had a great time and we had fantastic coaches and families to play with all Spring! Poppa and Nunno came to the last game and took Jack and Lucy back to Gville for the rest of the weekend! (Whew! I was worn out and so happy to get to go home and take a nap!) Steven and I got up and went to dinner and out to a movie Saturday night! We have had the best time just being us! :)
It's been a great weekend! Check out some of the pictures over the last couple of weeks! We have played T-ball, celebrated Anna's birthday and gymnastics performance!

Seagrove Beach 2012

It was just perfect! We truly love going down to Seagrove each year. We get so excited when we make the last turn towards the beach. It's just a happy place for us! This trip did NOT disappoint! The kids did really well on the car ride.  Lucy would get tired of being in her seat, but she hung in there and a little Elmo show helped pass the time! We got in around lunch on Friday and met the Coopers at Bud and Alley's for lunch at the roof top terrace overlooking the beach (yep - good way to start, huh?!) We checked in to our house and headed straight for the sand! The kids LOVED the beach! They played and played and played! Jack and Caroline had the best time making sand castles and "cakes".  Jack also made lots of "Soup" in his buckets. He said he was making it to feed the waves and he would make it really yucky because that is how the waves liked it! He would add salt water and sand and seaweed! Jack was a SUPER champ with his cast! He never complained at all about having it on! He used his left hand so much to dig and carry buckets. He would hold it up so that it wouldn't be down in the sand. He was just amazing. We are so proud of him! They also played hide and seek on the beach a lot. (There aren't many places to hide on the wide open beach so they would take turns running up to the little fence by the dunes while the other one counted) All of the kids got along so well and had fun! We spent most of the day on the beach playing in the sand and jumping waves! Lucy loved the baby pool and splashed in and out of it! We cooked dinner two nights and spent one night in Seaside having dinner and getting ice cream. The kids love running around the big grassy amphitheater.
We enjoyed watching the kids play and be so happy in the sand! Days on the beach and nights on the deck overlooking the beach! It was an amazing weekend with great friends. It was one of those really happy times! We can't wait to go back in September! When we pulled in to our neighborhood last night Jack said, "I love the beach! I want to go back right now!" We do too!!!! Click HERE to check out ALL the pictures!
