The little things...

Steven and I talk a LOT about trying to remember the little things about how great our life is right now. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of how great things are when you get caught up in the daily stress and worry.  It doesnt help that I am SO good at worrying. Ughhh...not one of my better qualities...
Anyway... after lunch today, I was outside with both kids on a blanket in the shade. We had some neighbors over to play and have lunch and they had just left...Jack was having some milk and a cookie, I was having a Diet Coke, and Lucy was playing and looking up at us. Jack leaned over to talk to Lucy to be silly and she just started giggling. She would squeal and then giggle at him. He, of course, loved it! He continued to get down near her face and talk to her in "baby talk"...or his version of it! This continued for several minutes and it made me so happy to see them. We just sat there and talked..
Me: "Jack, what is your favorite thing to do?"
Jack: "Ummmmm...Slide!"
Me: "Who is your Best friend?"
Jack: "LUCY!"
So sweet...although his answer is usually "Andrew"..he was so happy today saying Lucy. He is so great with her. He is gentle and loves to give her hugs and kisses. She was giving him some kisses (or kind of sucking on his cheek..he thought it was a kiss) today and he LOVED it. He said, "I Love kisses!" So... whenever it seems stressful, we will just focus on these moments with the little ones. That is what is most important!

Another thing I dont want to forget is that Jack is slightly obsessed with Morgan...we had dinner at the Coopers last night, and Jack was very interested in playing with Morgan (As always). She is the OLDER woman (4 years old! Watch out!) and he loves her. He usually follows her around and plays with her..but took it a step further last night. We noticed he was sitting beside her and he kept reaching out to touch her back and put his arm around her. He was VERY into "touching" her. He asked if he could touch her again. He would touch her arm and then just smile! Glad we are such good friends... I think he was making his move!
Steven and I got away for a Date afternoon on Saturday! BIG thanks to Poppa and Nunno for watching the kids! We took a dance class (private lesson that Steven had given me for Christmas), drinks at OVI on the deck, and dinner at C&S Seafood. It TRULY was a great day for us and we had so much fun just being the two of us!

And...a few firsts for the big girl! Lucy was 5 months old last week (CRAZY, right?). She is doing great and giving us such fun all the time! She still prefers Mommy and Daddy over most people...we need to keep working on that! She loves her swing outside and her Exersaucer. She rolled over from her back to her tummy (Finally..she has been working so hard on it!), she had her first bottle of formula today (makes me sad, but I think it's just emotional... Ughh! Anyway, it went great and she took it like a champ), and she is just giggling so much more! She loves being tickled and still loves being naked! We love our little girl so much!
